Aren’t we all big fans of time saving tips and devices? I love the little things that simplify my day, which is why I wanted to share this app with you. It’s called Passport Parking. FYI – I have no skin in this game, such as stock. And while I’m in the full disclosure mode I’ll also say that this is not a new app, but it’s new to me and has been so incredibly convenient!
The Passport app essentially allows you to pay your parking meter, as well as some parking lots and open parking zones on the street, from your phone. Like most good things, I first learned about app from customer. I was showing at a very busy three day show downtown. As I was processing a transaction my phone alarm went off indicating it was time to hike outside and feed my meter. I happened to mutter those words out loud which was when my customer shared this app. It does require setting up an account and linking a credit card for payment of course (or 2-3 if you have different users or businesses). There is also a very small fee for each transaction, but all it takes is one saved trip from the dinner table at a restaurant, a long run or an event or one big dollar parking ticket due to an oversight and you will find that it’s money well spent.
All meters have a zone# and meter# you will enter as you start the process. Then you simply log in before the meter expires and extend your time (you’ll still have to set your alarm as a reminder).
Don’t give up that great parking space because of the inconvenient need to return in an hour or so. Don’t trek back out in the rain or snow when your meter demands attention. It’s 2016 my friends. Life should be easy.
So, I’m teachable! I invite you to share something that opens your day for more important things. Please comment if you’re so moved.
Enjoy this beautiful day,
